[In-Reach Mentoring Program Participants]
These user-friendly programs are designed to take relatively little time, and have the inherent rewards of new information, a talented work force and new collegial links. The goals of these programs include assisting students with job and career-path decisions, giving them realistic experiences in science careers, and guiding students as they make the leap from graduate school to academia, research, or industry.
- Alumni Career Advisory Network. Add your name to an on-line database that serves as a resource for GSBS students who may have questions regarding a certain field or profession.
- Alumni-Sponsored Career Day.
- Job Shadow Program. Sign up for an opportunity to host students at your work site for a realistic look at the work experience in a specific career path, and introduce them to new contacts.
- E-Mail Mentor. Perhaps the easiest and most useful,
sign up to be an e-mail mentor and provide support and guidance to students
regarding career decisions.
