GS040071   Clinical Perspective of Malignant Disease

Ellis, Lee. One semester hour. Spring even-numbered years. Prerequisite: none.

The course provides a general overview of cancer therapies as well as the natural history of the various malignancies. Students will attend one hour of lecture per week on a selected topic, and also a minimum of four clinical visits to various clinics at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in order to obtain a better understanding of the difficulties encountered in caring for patients with malignancies. Students will be required to write a brief (3-5 pages) clinical protocol.
