GS110032 Introduction to Genomics and BioinformaticsXiong, Momiao; Fu, Yun-Xin; White, Allen. Two semester hours. Fall annually. Prerequisites: Intermediate Biochemistry (GS030014) and consent of instructor. General genetics and statistics recommended. This course introduces principles, experimental and analytical methods of genomics and bioinformatics. The topics covered include genetic mapping, physical mapping, sequencing under the subject of structural genomics, basic algorithms of bioinformatics with special reference to DNA/protein sequence-based analysis in the context of genomics, and the latest advancement in functional genomics. |
