Fu, Yun-Xin. Two semester hours. Spring annually. Prerequisite:
genetics and statistics, and consent of instructor
Basic principles of population genetics and their applications
to human populations will be discussed. The topics to be covered are random
mating populations, inbreeding, natural selection, maintenance of polymorphic
and deleterious genes, molecular evolution, eugenics, etc. Topics may
vary from year to year with the background of students. Studies at the
molecular level will be emphasized.
