FACULTY

The Faculty of The University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) operate under bylaws governing membership, officers, committees, and procedures for amendments. Faculty holding primary appointments at any school of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, or the Texas A&M Institute of Biosciences and Technology are eligible to apply for regular GSBS membership.

The academic work of faculty members includes directing the research of individual students for whom they serve as advisors (see Funding Students), participating in existing Programs, and teaching in current courses. In addition, Faculty are also encouraged to propose new courses, to take part in outreach activities, and to participate in GSBS recruitment of undergraduates.

All faculty are welcome to use general informational materials about GSBS provided in a downloadable format for graphic presentation. Conversely, listing GSBS affiliation as well as primary appointment institution on publications is an important means for current faculty to advertise the Graduate School.

Information about emergency weather, disasters, and related policies and closure announcements may be found here. See Summary Statistics for information about the institutional affiliations, titles, and other demographics of the Faculty.
