    • 87.8% of respondents indicated that coursework was either very appropriate or appropriate for preparing them for their candidacy examinations.
    • 87.0% of respondents indicated that coursework was either very appropriate or appropriate for preparing them for their research.
    • 92.1% of respondents indicated that the candidacy exam experience was either very useful or useful as a part of their education at the GSBS.
    • 80.3% of respondents indicated that the research training they received at the GSBS was either very effective or effective in preparing them for their proposed career.
    • Over 85% of respondents indicated that they were either very satisfied or satisfied with department staff (92.8%), GSBS Deans office staff (92.7%), Advisory/Supervisory Committees (87.5%), and program staff (86.5%).
    • 89.3% of the respondents were satisfied with the education they received at the GSBS, 87.5% of respondents were satisfied that their GSBS education prepared them to move on to their next career step, and 82.1% of respondents were either very enthusiastic or enthusiastic about recommending the GSBS to students interested in graduate education in the biomedical sciences.

    SYNOPSIS

    Overall, the responses are indicative that the GSBS is performing its mission to train the next generation of biomedical scientists. The vast majority of graduating students are very satisfied with the training they received at the GSBS, are confident that it prepared them for careers after the GSBS, and would recommend the GSBS to undergraduate students interested in graduate training in the biomedical sciences.
