User IDs and Passwords

User IDs and passwords allow GSBS students to login to the following resources:

To obtain your User ID, temporary password and email address, bring your Student ID Badge and signed “Computer Use Policy and Standards of Conduct” form and “Information Resources Security Acknowledgement” form to Michael Valladolid, GSBS LAN Manager, BSRB Building, room S3.8411. User IDs are created after you have registered and paid all required tuition and fees ( Normally, a weekend must intervene between the student's registration/payment of fees and activation of his/her network account.)

Change your password immediately by going to the UTHSC-H Netcenter Change/Reset Password Web Application: www.uth.tmc.edu/netcenter/ change_pass.htm

If your password does not work and you require a password reset, call the UTHSC-H Help Desk at (713) 500-4848

Email Accounts

  • Email will be the primary method of contact between GSBS and its students.

  • Address format: firstname.middleinitial.lastname@uth.tmc.edu

  • Storage Space: 200 Megabytes

  • Webmail: http://webmail.uth.tmc.edu/ (works best with Internet Explorer)

Online File Storage and Sharing:

Loaner Laptops

GSBS provides a limited number of laptop computers for students to borrow for up to 1 week (7 calendar days.) We require at least a weeks notice to reserve a laptop. Please contact Michael via email: Alfred.M.Valladolid@uth.tmc.edu for availability and reservations.

Free Laptop Tune-Up and Virus Cleaning

Before using your personal laptop computer on the UTHSC-H campus and network, it is required that you install the latest anti-virus software and perform a system scan to insure that your computer is not infected with any viruses, malware, spyware or trojans that you can pass along and infect others. You can get this done by scheduling an appointment with Michael via email: Alfred.M.Valladolid@uth.tmc.edu.

Free Anti-Virus Software

GSBS provides the latest version of McAfee Anti-Virus software with updates free of charge to its students. To obtain your copy, please contact Michael via email: Alfred.M.Valladolid@uth.tmc.edu.

Discount Software

The UTHSC-H Bookstore at http://books.uth.tmc.edu/ sells Windows and Mac programs at educational pricing. If you are looking for a particular title, give them a call and ask them for current pricing and availability. There are excellent deals on Microsoft titles.
