ADMISSION DEFICIENCIES

Some students admitted to the Ph.D. program have not met all of the admission requirements. Such deficiencies are noted in the letter of admission from the Dean. Students are strongly encouraged to repair these deficiencies prior to enrollment so they will not be delayed in completing GSBS degree requirements. If that is impossible, students are encouraged to repair admission deficiencies during their first year at GSBS.

BIOCHEMISTRY

Students may repair a deficiency in biochemistry by passing Introductory Biochemistry at GSBS.

BIOLOGY

Students may repair a deficiency in biology by passing two semesters of any biology course at The University of Houston, Rice University and/or Houston Community College. Contact Dr. Vicki Knutson at 713-500-9860 or Victoria.P.Knutson@uth.tmc.edu to confirm appropriateness of the courses.

Call Dr. Vicki Knutson at 713-500-9860 to get more information about how to register for courses at the University of Houston or Rice University. GSBS does not have an enrollment agreement with Houston Community College, so students who wish to take courses there should register independently of the Graduate School.
