STIPEND All students admitted to the Ph.D. program receive stipends of $23,000/year (effective fall 2005). Full tuition and required fees are also provided (effective fall 2003) for all students. This corresponds to total financial support of $24,000 – $30,000 per year depending upon residency status. By way of reference, Houston has the second lowest cost of living of major American cities and the lowest cost of housing of the 10 largest cities. In addition to standard stipends, a number of special scholarships and awards of up to $5,000 are available. Students may also apply for additional financial aid based upon need. Some stipends are available for students admitted to the M.S. program, but admission to this program does not automatically include the offer of a stipend. |
