Research Interests: Skin cancer; oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes; apoptosis
The research in my laboratory is aimed at investigating the molecular mechanisms by which UV radiation induces skin cancer. We are using mouse models and mouse and human tumor cell lines to study the role of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes in carcinogenesis as well as targeting those genes for cancer therapy.
A tutorial in my laboratory would provide experience in PCR and
nucleotide sequencing, gel electrophoresis, Southern, Northern and Western Blotting,
tissue culture and other molecular techniques.
