Research Interests: Optical methods for early detection of cancer; design and analysis of clinical trials; modeling of dose-response curves and surfaces

One of my primary areas of research is the use of optical methods (fluorescence and reflectance spectroscopy) to detect cancer. The use of such methods can lead to early detection of cancer without the need for highly trained physicians and thus these methods have great potential for use in the developing nations. The optical devices under study produce a large amount of highly structured data which requires careful statistical analysis.

I am also active in studying methods for the design and analysis of experiments intended to detect synergy or antagonism between therapeutic agents.
