The research in my laboratory is focused on comparative medicine, animal models, imaging and cancer. Our lab is developing surgical techniques for animal research, updating research models, we’re working on xenographs both orthotopic and subcutaneous. I am the Director of Education within my department. We have access to various imaging equipment for rodents.
We have developed a veterinary laboratory animal trainee program and we’re incorporating clinical care, experimental design, ethics, biomedical engineering and other aspects into the program. Rotations are available both at UTMDACC, UTHSC-H, and Baylor College of Medicine.
