Research Interests:
The research in my laboratory is directed at understanding and promoting the immune response to cancer in an effort to develop and improve cancer treatments. We focus on melanoma using a unique mouse model of tumor-specific T cells that we developed. We are especially interested in increasing the anti-tumor effect of tumor-specific T cells by vaccines or adoptive T cell transfer.
Depending on the student’s interests, a tutorial in my laboratory would provide experience with mouse models of melanoma, following vaccination-induced immune responses in vivo, and analysis of tumor-specific T cell function. We are also working on immunotherapy of human tumors in mice and on in vivo bioluminescent imaging of tumor growth and T cell migration.
