Research interests:

My research work in Radiation Oncology Physics is in the areas of Monte-Carlo simulation of radiation transport in different media, experimental study of dose distribution from therapeutic radiation sources, biophysical modeling of radiation response, radiation therapy treatment plan optimization and evaluation, development of quality assurance procedures and image guided stereotactic radiation therapy. I am also interested in the computation of electronic structure and properties of bio-molecules and in the study of molecular mechanism of radiation response of normal and malignant tissues. Students will be introduced to dose measurement and computation techniques, new developments in image guided radiation therapy and biophysical aspects of radiation therapy through guided reading, practice calculations and measurements.
