Research Interests:

My research is based on the utilization of sophisticated Monte Carlo Simulation programs like MCNPX and EGSnrc, and geared towards the improvement of radiation therapy equipment used for photon and proton treatments. Simulations of the beam delivery system and resulting dose distributions is becoming more and more interesting for the medical community. It provides data of increasing accuracy, which can be used in the future for commissioning and even treatment planning purposes.

Depending on the students interests, students would learn how to use Monte Carlo programs to simulate operations in several fields of radiation therapy (conformal 3d photon therapy, IMRT, proton therapy).
