Research Interests:

I am involved in several projects: image processing of nuclear medicine data to automate advanced clinical data analysis protocols; image processing of MR data to extract temporal, dynamic information; improvement of internal dose estimates for radiopharmaceuticals; and automation of professional practice activities.

A tutorial with me would include observation of a clinical nuclear medicine department in order to acquire an appreciation for the day-to-day activities needed to produce a medical imaging examination. Students with strong programming skills or an interest in image processing could then work on image processing and display problems. Students with an interest in instrumentation or imaging physics could work on image acquisition problems. Students with an interest in human factors could work on image display strategies.
